The report focuses on role of privilege, gatekeeping practices, and methods of political entry. Through meticulous research, the report uncovers the disproportionate influence of dynastic, criminal, and financially privileged backgrounds in selection for candidature. Some key highlights are: 

 

1. 81.6% tickets have gone to dynasts, individuals with criminal antecedents, and “5 crorepatis.”

2. Over 27% candidates are from dynastic backgrounds 

3. Over 50% women candidates are from dynastic backgrounds 

4. Over 56.1% candidates have assets more than 5cr. 

5. Only 9.5% candidates owe their career to student politics
